Jahmene Douglas:

Born – February 26, 1991 in Birmingham, England

Despite finishing as runner-up on the British version of the talent show The X Factor in 2012, Jahméne Douglas was one of the show’s most popular and well-liked contestants.

Born in Birmingham, UK in 1991, Douglas had a difficult upbringing and sought solace with music. Entering as a contestant on the Simon Cowell-produced show at the age of 21 changed his life.

Mentored by Nicole Scherzinger and steadily winning over viewers with his sweet yet powerful vocals, many were shocked when fellow singer James Arthur scooped up the main prize during the show’s finals.

Nevertheless, he was promptly signed by RCA and released his first full-length album, Love Never Fails, in July 2013.

The record topped the UK album chart and saw Douglas release his cover of David Guetta’s “Titanium” as a single.

In addition to his recording career, he became a UK ambassador for the charity Women’s Aid during his time on The X Factor.
